Merry Christmas!

Happy Holidays!!! Merry Christmas!!!
So you may be wondering...what is Christmas going to be like around the Whitaker house this year? Well, why would it be anything other than low key like the two adults that live there? Yeah, we know Alex is around, BUT why not take advantage of the last low-key Christmas we are going to have for a while. Now that doesn't mean we are depriving him of anything, but it does mean that we didn't put up a tree, stocking or anything else. No worries. There is a tree up at Grammy's house that he sees quite often. Here is what we did do...

Lights outside the house.
You're not officially a "Whitaker house" if you don't have a Black Santa out. If you don't believe me ask for a picture of Charles' parents and his sister's house.
Charles took Alex to see Santa. Then everyone asked "Where's the black Santa?"
Well here it is. This is as good as it gets in NC.
So again MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!!
We hope you have enjoyed our blog this year and look forward to you continuing to check us out next year.
A sure way of getting Alex to smile nowadays...
Put him in front the mirror and call his name

Awww sleepy.

On the Road Again

Charles had to go to the Baltimore, Maryland area for work and Alex still hadn't seen some of his Maryland family so we made it a family trip.

Alex's parent's looking good!

Take Alex to see beautiful scenery and this is what he does...

Real Dads Push Strollers!

And carry their kid back to the hotel!
The eyes of innocence

Whoa parents, what's going on here?

You make me happy!

Meeting New Family

Uncle James, the family techie, already showing Alex how to use an I-Phone.

What's New with Alex

Alex is doing great! He's so funny and it's great to watch him discover new things. His hands are his new thing. He often wakes up and rubs his face and eyes like a grown person. However, he's a little aggressive with the rubbing and will even grab his hair. Then after he does that and realizes that hurts, he wants to cry like someone stole something from him. Sooooo.... we had to break out the "Michael Jackson gloves" as Charles calls them.

He is also having more and more conversations. While we can't translate yet, they are being more and more profound. He extends and emphasizes certain words, has a high pitch during some conversations, and it's just enjoyable to hear his voice. Go Buddy!

Guess that's the best way to sleep...Throw your head back! Even better when it's on dad.

See how many faces I make in a matter of minutes!

I went to my first baseball game. Even though my dad was playing, this is what I did 85% of the time. However, I was awake when he hit the game winning home run.

My new favorite toy!

I may have on a skeleton costume sent to me by Aunt Tasha, but check me out, I'm so much more than skin and bones.
