Let's Catch Up

Oh it's been a while (sorry) so let's play catch up...

Physically
- I'm sleepy! I'm not running myself around like crazy and I go to bed at night, but I find that many days I would much rather be doing nothing. I wonder if I can work out something where I can function with my eyes closed, but listening ears.
- Puffy ankles. Everyone has different names for them, but I think "puffy" is a nice way to refer to my ankles some days. Thankfully this is not a constant occurance and with some elevation, fluids and sometimes cold water. I'm back to normal.
- Nails. Remember my comments on how my nails were growing. Well I did cut them, but it's time for cut number 2. Who knew I would ever feel like that. I've always thought it was nice to have a some length to your nails.
- Coming full circle. So I've discovered that the end of the pregnancy is similar to the beginning. Sleep is desired and those frequent trips to the restroom are back!!

Kid's Room
Not knowing kid's gender prevented us from going color crazy in the room. We are totally cool with that being the laid back people that we are! So Charles did a coat of basically white, just to give the room the fresh kinda feel.
Then I got a surprise call from Charles at work one day informing me that the crib was up. HUH!!!! NO WAY!!! OH GEEZ!!! After I congratulated him, I did run through my questions..."do you like it?", "is it sturdy?", "how many screws you have left?". Hahahahaha! At first he didn't hear that last question and we moved on for about 10 seconds until I guess it registered and he said, "Did you ask me how many screws I had left?" HAHAHAHA! Yep...sure did buddy. He answered "4, but they are for something else." Uh ok. I think he's talking about the toddler rail when the kid is older. So we're good.
My mom put up some blue/green curtains and added some yellow and orange accent pillows in the window seat. Still working on that project a little bit, but it will come together.
Changing table needs to be put together and glider needs to be purchased, but like I keep saying, if "the kid" comes tomorrow...we have what we need.

Appointments
I continue to have successful appointments. Thank God!
Now I go every week. Hello 9th month!

Successful Shower
Another successful was held for us at Charles' parents home in VA. Family and friends from both sides were tested on their knowledge of baby animal names, unscrambling words, not saying the word "b-a-b-y" and guessing the size of my stomach in toilet paper. TOO FUN!!!
My grandma was the winner of the "toilet paper game". She was right on!! According to toliet paper, I am 11 squares big.
Thanks moms for two AWESOME showers!!! Awww...who's that baby? It's my baby daddy! I think 2 days old.

Name Reveal
In case you missed it or haven't heard, at the NC shower Charles and I revealed the possible names of "the kid".
Ava - girl
Alex - boy

It was a great surprise and pretty cool to me that during the VA shower, these two names were scattered out in confetti along the gift table. Since we don't know which one it will be, I had to put both on their current home.

That's all for now. Wow! What will the next post be about? Will the kid be here? WOW!!! Thanks again for all the love and support!

So Much to be Thankful/Grateful for...

I am grateful for the things that you have done
Yes, I'm grateful for the victories we've won
I could go on and on and on, about your works
Because I'm grateful, grateful so grateful, just to praise you Lord
Flowing from my heart
Are the issues of my heart, is GRATEFULNESS

Grateful - Hezekiah Walker http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yE0W-kQyz6A&feature=related

This pretty much sums up how Charles and I feel right about now. After a shower for the kid that included over 40 family and friends, how else should we feel? Geez! What an awesome shower. Thanks to ALL, ALL and ALL (I'm still learning not to call names) for EVERYTHING that was done.

When you don't know the gender, orange and yellow work!

Ok...I see you ma'.

Oh, the wonderful guest!

Oh, the wonderful gifts!
Many thanks for your support!

And yes, guys play games at this shower!

It's Official...The 4 C's

I've been trying to post since last week, but I get to doing other things and all of a sudden it's a week later. Anyway. Last week, I was really excited about "the 4 C's".

Clothes...Crib...Car...Classes

Clothes - It may not officially be summer, but with consistent days of temperatures over 90 degrees, IT'S CLOSE ENOUGH. You know what this means for me...the dresses have COME OUT!!!! SO EXCITED!!! Now this isn't a picture of me in a dress, but please believe I had a dress on almost every other day this week.

I think I still look like me. Taken this morning (6/3).

Crib - I FINALLY ordered "the kid's" crib last week. I had been putting it off for no good reason, but now it's done! Any guesses on how long it will stay in the box? or how many screws Charles will leave out... stating "I didn't need it". HAHAHAHAHA!!!

Car - Another big task completed. Yep, finally got my SUV. After stressing myself, Charles, my dad and the men at the dealership, I got what I wanted. Now don't look to see it too often, because the Altima didn't go ANYWHERE and still runs fairly nicely.

Classes - We started Preparing for Childbirth classes last week at the hospital. There are about 10 couples in the class with us and 2 of the couples are not sure of the gender of their child either. This class has already taught me that there are some SCARED people out there. Geez! While I don't really know what to expect or what it will feel like, scared is not word I would use to describe the way I feel. Thankfully! Just take it step by step...breathing the whole way through. And probably a little eye rolling on the side. Classic Tameka! HAHAHAHA!
