Busy Ol' May

Forgive me if I repeat myself every May.....it's a great month, but oh so busy! Busy at work, busy in personal life, busy raising kids, just busy. I promise I feel like the month just started and here we are at the end. Geez!
Here's what's been going on in our spare time....hahaha spare time.......

Clearly it was a nice day, so pull out the sprinkler

And leap

Meanwhile inside the house, a friend and I were transitioning Alex's room from ABC 123 (which he is well beyond) to big boy and something I won't have to change until he's 13. BIG SMILE! Thanks to Ikea for always coming thru. New bed (no more mattress on the floor). New dresser. New storage unit. New decor!

Sure you can help.

However, he did not like it when we wouldn't let him in the room until the "Big Reveal". He didn't quite get that concept. Oh how he knocked and begged to come in.

Here it is.
All the new stuff and oh and I forgot some really awesome Hot Wheels sheets.
Quite frankly I wanted to put them on our bed (oops wrong size).
That map of the United States was Charles' idea so Alex could learn all the states and it's working. He can name at least half of them after only a few weeks. The wall on the middle is holding his some of his cars.

Then I put up this pretty awesome bridge wall decal. It was the first time I've ever put up something like this. Glad I don't have to do it again...for a while hopefully.

Then it was my birthday and we celebrated in VA with family at Sweet Frogs!!

It's exactly what I wanted. We all enjoyed!

And were happy to be around each other.

And had the biggest group in the place. Next time I wanna rent it out and throw a DJ in there.
AAAAYYYYYY!!!!

Papa's 1st time at "da frog" as he referred to it! I loved having him experience it for my birthday.

Me, my boy and our silly cousins.

Remember this guy from January?

I mean is she giving me face right now or what?
You better work them eyes and that look shorty doo wop.
The "Can I Help You" look!

Finding calmness

Yes she's cute, but I'm loving that Paul Frank sleeper she's wearing even more.

Alex and Grammy down at the water.

Welcome Uncle Steve

Then we met up with cousins for some fun at Fort Fun. Now I'll be honest...when their momma and aunt wanted to meet at this place at 11am on a Saturday, I thought "ugghh this gonna suck cause it's going to be hot and crowded". Well it was neither and I even wanted to play myself.

Here we come!

Safety first!

 Boys play...

Girls listen to a story. Hahahah. Who does that?
Leave it to my cousin to bring this big ol' library book to the park. Hahaha!

The crew...the cousins

How many of you remember "the tire" growing up?
Faster. Faster. Dizziness.
Also, you see that water in the background? That's why it wasn't too hot. The water from the James River was keeping it nice and comfortable.

Elijah and the bridge...still at the park
We ended the afternoon with lunch in Chick-fil-A and I'm pretty sure all the boys fell asleep on the ride home. That's right mommas...wear them out!

Can't leave VA without a little time with Jack

Next post is the 8 month showcase...
