36 and I'm Getting It!

"I'm riding 'round and I'm gettin' it!" - yeah just lyrics from a rap song. Those are the only words I know. Hahahaha. However, this morning I feel like I'm "gettin' it" for sure.

Team Look Good, Feel Good!
36 weeks and 6 days mate!
Uhhh black does make you look smaller.
I have on a $10 maternity skirt and a non maternity top that's been in my closet for years!
Still being me!

Now we're really "ridin' around"...to school and work!

We did have quite a nice weekend. Alex and I traveled to Greensboro to see friends and kids. Haven't seen these ladies in months and I knew it would be a few more months before I got back there way so I'm glad I had a free Saturday. Sunday wasn't as nice (for me) as I think I was having a few contractions, but we won't focus on that by Monday things were back to feeling "normal"!

 Mason and Skylar
These 18+ month old girls can dip chips and salsa with the best of us.
And I mean dip and bite the chip, not just lick the salsa.

Mason was offering Skylar a chip and yes, she ate it right out of Mason's hand.

Beautiful girls and they play well together.

One adult (who is not pictured here and will remain nameless) showed the kids how this TABLE can become like a cage. Alex thought the idea was cool, but when they asked him if he wanted to get in, he was like "no". He did want to help set the girls free.

Clueless! As to why they are even in there.
All three of them enjoyed each other. They were running/chasing each other in the house and apparently at one time Alex told them "come on young ladies!" HAHAHAHAH! I didn't hear it, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Here's almost everybody in our crew. Missing a few adults and child.
Great to see ya'll! Love them!

I know I started off with a rap song, but I'll end by taking it back to church. This is a song that I heard on the way to the dr's office today. Although I don't feel like I'm worrying about anything, there are things that are on my mind. It just felt good to be reminded of this. The lyrics that stuck out to me are the highlighted ones. The song says...

As soon as I stop worrying,
Worrying how the story ends
I let go and I let God
Let God have His way

That's when things start happening
When I stopped looking at back then
I let go and I let God
Let God Have his way

Nothing Like Fam-a-lee

Here is a sample of over 200 pictures taken during our celebration in VA. We celebrated Alex's 3rd birthday and K2s pending arrival. We decided why not go and be with family for Alex's birthday this year. He's not begging for certain friends to be at his party nor did he (we didn't ask) want his party in a certain location. So VA it was!!! I'll let the captions tell the story.

The moment Alex saw that Nana was working on something, the first thing he said was "Can I help?"
That's a very normal question from him almost daily. I hope that when K2 arrives he doesn't get tired of helping and say "I don't want to help anymore." hahaha.

He can't get enough of Symba.

Yeahhhh. Nothing like being at Nana and Papa's.....or out of the car.

Keep the decorations simple!

Birthday morning. He came down the stairs with Nana and after I read the birthday banner to him, this was the look on his face! I would say he appreciated it!

His first gift of the day...a construction train track from Nana and Papa. After opening this gift, he immediately jumped up and gave Nana a hug (under no direction).

This was the big 3 year old gift!

Here's the reaction!

He was trying and he really had it. However, he had other things he wanted to do.

"Mommy I wanna run." ---- Ok see ya!

Alex and Daddy race. On your Mark, Get Set, Go!

Who's gonna win?

 K2's shower begins

 Good times, Great laughs...clearly!

But don't mess with the competitive ones. You would think they are taking the SAT with the determination their face with this baby shower game.

 The great gifts begin...

Love clothes that say cute/unique things

Yes, you do have to show "the daddy" some love in the clothes that are purchased.
Wild about daddy!

A quilt made just for K2. The picture doesn't do it justice!

Now check this out. Look at how one of the guest wrapped our gifts. I loved the packaging so much I had to take a picture with it. Another guest wrapped in a similar fashion. I CLEARLY need to step my game up so for the next shower I go to I've been inspired. Ohhhh and I almost forgot. The paper was not your typical wrapping paper. It had a nice heavy weight to it and yes I saved it! Hahaha
Step your game up from those gift bags....okkkkk!!

Since Grandma is smiling down on us, I was so thankful to have Aunt Velma (Grandma's sister) present and ready for fun. She's always been so supportive!

Look at my prego cousin! Clearly she's further along than me. She actually had the baby 5 days after the shower. 9 lbs baby! Yes, Rhonda you did that!!! Way to go!

Thankfully I still have the same mothers from the last shower! Hahaha!

And the same silly grandmothers!
Don't you love family who just accept you for who you are and what you do.

When I asked Alex what kind of cupcake he wanted for his birthday, he said chocolate. So of course Papa made that happen. That look says, "Uhhh what are you doing. Isn't that fire." Hahahah

Ok. 3 candles and a chocolate cupcake "forrrr meeeee".

Yeah not sure why the ears were covered. Perhaps he is similar to his mother and doesn't prefer the birthday song.
You did it! Good Job Alex!

My twin cousins and I...just taking advantage of a photo op.

Family picture...with Alex sharing his birthday money with us. Temporarily!

Frick and Frack!

Clearly you can see what an enjoyable time we had in VA celebrating. So thankful and blessed to have AWESOME family and friends. Thank you a million times over for being in our lives!

Oh and shout out to myself! Even though we didn't have a big birthday party so I could give Alex's age in cookies, I kept the tradition going (after we got home) and still made #3 cookies! I even made the sugar cookie dough from SCRATCH! Go me! Go me! Yeah...Don't judge the color of the icing.
