He's So Interesting

Happy Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day
"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."

"Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase."

The things that Alex says are sooo interesting and shocking now-a-days. Here are a couple of examples.

~ While playing with his trains on the track, he turns to me and says "Which one you choose?, Which one you choose?" I said, "The red one". He responds "Excellent choice. Excellent choice". Hahahaha!

~ Saturday morning, Alex was waking up in our bed. Charles and I were already up and out of the bed, partly because Alex kicks you out. He woke up and the first thing he said was "Peek-a-boo"

~ He can now identify President Obama and knows his mother and father's first name. We got this one on video. Take a listen.

Isn't that kinda crazy! Now again, I continue to think this might be normal for a 2 year old. We've never had one or spent a lot of time around one before. He says our names so clear, it's like we've been friends for 20 years.

Potty Training
Still working on it. When at home he often walks around with no pants on. Sometimes a pull-up, sometimes not. He's probably peed on the floor twice. All the other times, he'll go to the potty. For instance, while sitting here creating this post, I hear something moving in the bathroom. I yell out "Alex what are you doing". He says, "I'm in the bathroom". I get up and he's in the bathroom, sliding his stool over to the potty so he can stand up and go. Success.

Note to self - Don't order lemons in your water. They will only get taken by this kid.

It's ok kid, your mother loves sour things too!

Just playing!

2014...WOW!
We hope everyone had a WONDERFUL CHRISTmas and a safe start to the New Year! We didn't travel this holiday season, but are thankful that parents made their way to us. It was also probably the last Christmas of us not really making a big deal out of Christmas as Alex is bound to expect next year. On the last day of daycare, "Santa" came by and when I asked Alex if he saw Santa, he replied with the "most laid back, not excited, who cares" Yeah! and never said anything else about it. I'm so convinced that the things that you hype up as important are the same things the kids hype up. Charles and I didn't hype it! Hahaha! Now don't get it twisted and think that he didn't get gifts because that's far from the case, but an abundance under our tree...there was not! Some of the pictures below reveal some of his gifts.

After Christmas, Alex and I met with one of my friends for lunch and she had a gift for Alex in the car. I said "Alex, Lorraine has a present for you in the car" and he DRAMATICALLY puts his hand on his chest and says "for me". AAAHHHH HAHAHAHAH!!! Where does he get this stuff? Oh let's see he can go from laid back (Charles and Tameka) to not excited (Charles and Tameka) to dramatic (Tameka).........ohhhhh just like his parents!! The kid is a great combo!

The other exciting adventure that we took on was the starting of our own photo booth business (Endless Expressions Photo Booth)! We purchased a portable photo booth and all sorts of fun props that can be taken to all types of celebratory events for guest to enjoy. Based on the events that we have already done (a holiday party, neighborhood gathering and a wedding), guest REALLY do enjoy the experience. The smiles and laughter that surround a photo booth is one of the reasons behind going forward with this business. We've set the booth up for small events, large events, inside and outside and now we're ready for yours, your coworkers, your friends...you get the point! So spread the word about Endless Expressions Photo Booth  www.EndlessExpressionsPhotoBooth.com

My own ride! Look mom I drive with NO HANDS AT ALL. Just press the gas and when I crash into the wall, I experience kiddie whiplash.

Sneaking Transportation Toy #4 in there
And yes, Alex got a VERY CLOSE haircut and that's all I have to say about that...other than it's growing back.
