This is how we ROLL and will be ROLLING

In my best Friday (the movie) voice, I say "Well around here" on the street we live on, this is how we ROLL! We eat healthy...sometimes and we eat in the car!

Alex says asparagus is deee-licious!

Dinner time! Crab cakes and asparagus

Eating on the run! That's how I learned. My parents had me involved in stuff all the time and going on long road trips, so we had to allow for some car meals. I don't know that cereal in the car is a good idea always, but on this day it's what he wanted and we needed to get to going.

Good to the last sip!

and to TOP IT ALL OFF, WE WILL BE ROLLING WITH
A GIRL!!!!
Dr. says she (K2) looks good. Everything is cool! I'm fine and she even said my weight was perfect. Hahahah. When's the last time I heard someone knowledgeable say that? Yeah it felt strange, but I'll take it...with a side eye. We don't have a name or any of the other questions you might have.
We'll keep you up-to-date.

Oh, we found out K2 was a girl the day after our anniversary. Then Charles and I hung out for the rest of the day eating at various places that we had never been before. We did a quick reflection on our anniversary saying, "we really loved our wedding day!" Charles is supposed to be responsible for year 5. I'm chanting...Make it good! Make it good! Make it good!

Funny. Smart. Cool

This post is so spare of the moment, but I just had to share.

Do you know what it feels like to go pick up your child from school and have ALL FOUR TEACHERS that are still there at the end of the day tell you something that your child did or said that day? Well now I do! Thankfully they were all for something quite clever/interesting he said. Here are a couple...

1) His teacher said "I'm watching you." and he responded "I'm watching you too, Ms. Bettie."
2) The director told him that the computer was going to be fixed Monday. He responded "I don't think it's gonna work." and sure enough he told another staff member who was trying to fix the computer the same thing. Alex was right. They need an entirely new computer. The man said Alex is now his consultant.
3) When we arrive to pick Alex up in the evening his new thing is to hide. However, when we drop him off in the morning he holds your leg so you don't leave, but will straight up tell you he doesn't wanna go home when you come to pick him up.
4) They all say based on the way he talks, he's a man in a little boy's body.

I wish someone would create some kind of device that could record a child's voice/conversations all day. The things ALEX says, tend to be quite interesting/funny/correct. Then he moves on and if you don't write it down, he's on the next clever thing.

I thought I would add some cool videos first before the pictures this time.

Alex is pretty aware that "Happy" is the new "hot" song. So he will ask for it and or smile when he hears it. We been on that song for a minute though. Check our post several months ago. Listen closely and you can hear his lyrics.

Go Dad! Go Baseball! Go Falcons!

Here we go. Dad showing him how to listen to music in headphones.

Last Friday after picking Alex up from daycare, I said "You wanna get some ice cream?" His eyes lit up, so we made it an ice cream before dinner kinda Friday.
Dad joined in on the treat also. Alex is going thru this thing where even if you fix him his own, plate, bowl, cup, he WANTS YOURS!

This is a picture that was sent to me while I was working a Endless Expressions Photo Booth function. Alex and I made Charles a cake on Sunday and there was still some left Tuesday. So I get this picture/text and all it says is "Cake Cake Cake".

 My guilty party.
Charles said he cut the cake. Sat him down at the big boy table and stepped into the kitchen. Next thing he hears is "I need a napkin."

So Wednesday night I had to make up for the cake, cake, cake and offered him some salad.

Dad's not here but it's because he's at the baseball tournament!!!! We're glad he's there!

Does Alex know about K2?
If he does, it's not because his mother or father told him. But I might be buying into this kid's intuition thing. He has said a few things (randomly) that prove he knows something. One day he went under my shirt and said "is there a baby in there?". I don't think we had even told our parents so I have NO CLUE what made him say that. The other night, Charles and I did a double take (at each other) when Alex said "is there a baby bird in your tummy?" DUDE REALLY where are you getting all this from. We'll tell him soon enough and when we do I just need to be ready for it to randomly come out of his mouth whenever, wherever and to whoever. Come on Alex, don't share all the family business! Love ya though!

New Adventures!

Hey! How you doing!
Welcome! Nice to see you!
Welcome Back!

So you came to the blog today! Is it because you love it so much and you're here for an update OOORRRRR is it because you heard of a new adventure coming our way and you want the SCOOP? Probably the latter, but we love you anyway!

So let's get to the point. Check out what we shared with our parents and siblings today via email.

That's right! Kid 2 (now referred to as K2) is on the way. Don't really have a lot to say about it. It's cool. Thankful. Blessed. All the normal stuff, but it has been a different experience than good ol' Alex. Feelings of sickness, fatness, laziness pretty early on were not what I was/am use to. AND it took a minute, but I'm finally accepting the fact that it might be a girl. Even though God and I still have conversations about that. We won't be waiting for this gender reveal. Oh we're both in agreement that we're gonna find out. However, both of us and my doctor are thinking...girl! ENOUGH ABOUT THAT! Again that's still processing. Everything else is fine.  Stay tuned for updates!

For an update on our current favorite...

His favorite things to say are:
"I don't want to",
"I don't like it",
"I don't have to eat it.",
"Mommy/Daddy, you're my best friend."
"Can we play quiet music" (at bed time)
"Bless you" (when sneezing)
"I don't wanna go home." (when being picked up from daycare)
"Where's my iPad?"
"You didn't say Alex Whitaker." (after the neighbor said "come here Alex")

He knows he's birthday and we're working on adding. Why not right?!

Next Adventure - Great Wolf Lodge
This was a fun adventure that Alex and I went on with our neighbors. First time there for all of us. We found a deal on Amazon, so we decided to explore.

He is not asleep. He's just acting like he didn't want to take a picture.

After he put on his swimming shorts, he was soooo excited.

 Can't stop me!
 Oooohhhhh Get Em Alex!

Yes, I am a big boy!

 Yeah we like each other!

 Thinking he's doing something!

After an afternoon of swimming, a night in the arcade, a morning of swimming, what else was there to do than SHUT IT DOWN...even the girls.

All by myself!

Until Later!
