I didn't know it would be this big

May is a busy month around our way. Work, tournaments, graduations, birthdays, etc.

On this particular day, Alex was all dressed up ready to go to a graduation celebration with me.

He played with toys while waiting...

He watched Nick Jr while waiting...

Finally, mom you're taking too long.

Alex finally got to play with Simba at Nana's house. She often puts the web camera on Simba when chatting, but this is his first time being old enough to see and touch. Clearly he liked it!

Thankfully Simba is a good dog, doesn't really bark, just likes to eat. When you're in the kitchen, he's in the kitchen!

Alex started pulling himself up in the crib, so that required Charles to drop it as low as possible. Now at least when he looks over the side it doesn't appear that he could tip over.

Dad took apart the mobile that used to be on the side of the crib.

My two favorite guys on Mother's Day!

The day after my birthday and two days after my first Mother's Day, MAJOR THINGS went down in our house. I said May was going to be a big month, but I didn't know it was going to be THIS BIG...CRAWLING!!! Charles was walking with Alex first, but then Alex just chose to crawl instead.

Shout out to the Wilson family as he was wearing a "Poop Happens" shirt that Lorraine bought and was crawling toward the "God Loves Me" book that Mrs. Wilson bought!

May is a big month!

Oh my goodness, it's MAY!!!
It's almost summer time.
Alex can wear shorts. He gets to test water at a swimming pool.
He gets to celebrate lots of family birthdays.
We're getting ready...

Tackling Mr. Elephant

We all fall down.

During Alex's 9-month checkup the doctor told us several different times how blessed we are regarding Alex. He hasn't rejected any food, he's very alert showing no signs of autiusm, very active, etc. While it was nice to hear, CLEARLY we already knew that. BLESSED is a word that's in our minds DAILY. I've known that since the brother was in the belly, just chillin around waiting for his time. He also let us know that we could start using whole milk before his first birthday. I wanted to yell out FOR REAL!! NO MORE $42 for formula!!! PRAISE GOD!! Anybody need lunch money?

He's 22lbs and 30inches long. Got his finger pricked for the first time (checking for anemia - he doesn't have it) and he didn't cry. He just kept looking at the side of the nurse's face as she was drawing blood like, who are you. Then he got one additional shot and fake cried for about 10 seconds. Too Funny!

At the doctor's office

After completely destroying the paper on the bed, he needed a moment on Dad's chest.

Back to it...one, two, three, up

"Dad, how about you let me get to those curtains."
