May is the month of celebrations!
Birthdays. Cinco de Mayo. Mother's Day.I started this post after Mother's Day, but then great things just kept happening so I kept delaying the post. This post is kinda long, but who doesn't like understanding a story through pictures!
Beginning of May - Uncle James came and surprised Papi at his birthday dinner. Great Time!
Imagine being only half awake yourself and looking in your child's bedroom and seeing an empty bed. You're smart enough not to freak out because he doesn't know how to get out of the gate, so you know he's around. Then you look a little harder and realize, "Sometimes the bed just isn't good enough."
Cinco de Mayo - Well I really like celebrating Cinco de Mayo (5th of May) so I hype of the rest of the family in my excitement. Maybe it's because I like Mexican food and it's a day when I'm especially excited to eat it. Sooooo I got some of the neighbors in on my excitement and we had a 3 meat taco bar, chips, salsa, queso, pina colada cake and margarita punch (non-alcoholic).
We also did the LIMBO (Mexican music playing). Oh limbo has nothing to do with Cinco de Mayo? Hahaha. Oh well, who cares.
Our neighbors welcome our Mexican guest.
Mother's Day - Started the day a little too late for Cracker Barrel, so we ended up at Golden Corral. Then we had family time at the park. That was fun!
I was trying to get Alex and dad to look at the same time, but this was the best I could get.
Here I come...WEEEEEEE
My birthday - While I was very grateful to see another birthday, I wasn't into any big celebrations this year. Charles organized dinner at Bonefish with my parents and then had a ice cream cake for me at home. I didn't tell any of my neighbors and they were pretty disappointed in me. So to get me back, they TOTALLY surprised me with this pretty awesome cake....and to make it even better it was an ice cream cake also. It was a great replacement to the one Charles bought me, that melted in our freezer the next day. Can you say May purchase of the month = new refrigerator.
Cars. Cars. Cars - Look at that face..."You think you riding with me." I bought this car at the consignment several months ago. Now that warmer weather is becoming a regular thing, it's now time to bring it out.
Always make sure you have some gas!
Now to the real deal...he asked me to "open door" about 15 times until I gave in. It was over 80 degrees and he wanted to play in the car. Brother please!
VA - It feels like we hadn't been to VA in a while, so we took a little trip. As usually Alex wanted to be outside, so he followed Uncle Steve around as he cleaned up the yard.
Then he decided (on his own - through observation...hahaha), that he could help to. So he picked up grass and leaves and put them in the wheel barrow.
Uncle Steve showed him the garden and told him the different fruits and vegetables that were planted. He said in about 3 weeks it should look very good. Might make that 4 weeks Uncle because Alex probably stepped right on top of them and pushed them back down into the ground a little bit.
Then they were best buddies!
NEXT MONTH - Get ready for daycare stories and pictures. It will be another FIRST!!!
