Yes I am delayed in posting the 6 month picture, but while you're waiting I thought I would share some video footage and not just still images. My kids are a trip!


Alex Ice Skating

This is the video I promised a while back. Alex's class went ice skating (mandatory parental attendance), so this is one of the videos Charles captured.

She rolls "oh so casually" and lightly it makes me laugh.
Then goes into push-up position.
Followed by some good ol' "I don't feel like doing this" head down and thumb sucking activity.

This picture made me realize that I have "that" mom tendencies. "That" mom that in the moment when you ask your child to do something and they do it their way, but it still was done correctly and you don't have time to worry about it/care so you let it go even if it looks crazy to other people. Hahahaha! Last Sunday both Charles and I had to work so the kids went to the grandparents. As I was walking to get Alana dressed, I pointed to a pair of pants and asked Alex to put those on. He came back a few minutes later and said "Mom, I did it!" Of course, I say "Good Job Alex!" Then I said, go to your room and get some socks and shoes. By this time, I'm almost done with Alana and he comes down the hall saying "I wanna wear these (rainboots)." I think for a split second how not right that is, but if he was going to put them on himself and it was gonna get us out the door....DO YOU! So I said "ok." I mean it had rained the day before, so maybe the ground was still wet. Hahaha! I also knew that he was only going to my parents house and would immediately kick them off after entering. He likes putting his jacket on by himself also (including zipping), so it wasn't until I was helping him get in the car seat that I realized the pants were on backwards. HAHAHAHA!! Thankfully in sweatpants it's not that obvious so if you think I changed them....guess again. So backwards pants and rain boots on a sunny day and no modifications equal "THAT MOM".

 About 2 mins after the above video was taken, this happened.

 

I rarely let her sleep on her stomach, but before picking her up I realized that those animals on the butt can sometimes be cute and seen. 

 



While Alana was upstairs rolling on the floor, I went downstairs to check on Alex to find him in this position. WHERE DID YOU GET THIS FROM DUDE? Did you just work a double shift?

 

He has also said the following to me in the last few days...

~ as we are getting out of the car to go into my parent's house, and with a look of negotiation he says "let's not tell Grammy and Papi about my day at school"...he had hit somebody

~ while driving to parent's house, a Mustang is about to drive by, but before the car was officially passed us, he says "Mustang". I said, "Alex how did you know that?" He said "I used my imagination!"

~ while putting a puzzle together, he says "don't even look at me mom, I got this!"
