5 - 5 - 5 - I'm Alive

It was a hot Saturday early evening, but it had to go down. "The Birthday Party".
Alex, his friends, a few games, a playground and the Kona Ice truck!!!
Check out the photos.

The Kona Ice truck personalized just for him.
Kona Ice is shaved ice with flavors of your choice that you add to your ice.

Alex and his friends.
Oh I'm sorry can you only see his sister. It's called the take over.

There we go

Everyone cooling off with Kona Ice (even Nana)

When your mom owns a photo booth company, but she wasn't trying to bring it to your party at the park. She makes you this frame with your favorite thing...Transformers
Please don't ask me what's going on with Alex's smile.

Friends!

Cousins!

The Birthday Boy!

Girls!....Wait a minute...he's just 5.

The games
Giant Tic-Tac-Toe and Bucket Toss (ok I couldn't think of a better name...hahaha)
The kids didn't mind playing once I moved the games into the "shade".

Oh and neither did she.
The take over continues

Love this pic!

Preschool friends we can't forget!

Alana!!!

Our people!

Everybody. Everybody.

Friends make it better.

"Can you push me?" - Everybody was put to work.

His favorite balloon...Optimus Prime

Thanks Uncle Jason and Auntie Des...and Gabe

At the playground, you know...
(it's a song)

Grammy and Papi getting in on the frame action!

It was a great day!!

When Gabe woke up, he went to Alex University.
Clearly Gabe is a great student.

They sealed the learning with a high five!

A book was inside one of his gifts so I encouraged him to go ahead and read it right then.

That balloon.
 Still alive a week later.

Nana and Alex

On Alex's official birthday, we went to a Japanese Hibachi Steakhouse. He enjoyed watching them prepare the food in front of him. He also enjoyed the soup and "some" of the salad...so did Alana.

Hi my name is Alex and IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!
I'm 48.8lbs and 46 inches tall.
He went for his 5 year old check up and those were his numbers. He hadn't been to the doctor in a year!! I think she said he gained 4 lbs and grew 3 inches in a year. She then continues to tell me/remind me because I've heard it before...that he's gonna be tall.
The Dr. likes to refer to him as "perfect".

This was also an important appointment because this was the appointment before starting kindergarten. I had no clue all that it would involve. Height, weight, temperature, eye test sure, BUT
blood pressure and questions about knowing what strangers, cigarettes and private parts are had me like WHOA! Thank goodness we talk to Alex and he was able to answer some questions.

Anyway...back to the birthday...

Trying to catch rice in his mouth that is being tossed to him by the chef
Fail!

The guys.
Alex put ice cream on his nose.

When your child knows how to read, make them read everything. Hahaha

Excited about the Transformer shirt

Special made card from Grammy and Papi.
That was my favorite picture of Alex while in the hospital. Cause ya'll know how I really feel about newborn pics right?

The excitement over Transformers.

He probably said "I really really wanted this one."
And I probably mumbled "you really really want all of them."

The boy wanted a coconut cake.
Had he ever had coconut cake before....NO.
So why coconut asked Nana?
Because I had coconut yogurt at Papi's and I liked it.

You are amazing Alex!
Love Mom and Dad

They don't mind representing for Obama!
Obama's birthday is 2 days later, but only 50 years apart. hahahaha

If Alex is eating at the "big boy table" then you better know that Alana is going to pull a chair out, climb up and sit at the table too. Here she had help from Papi, but trust me, she doesn't really need help. It my brother is there, so am I!

2 weeks after the party - This week - I took these pictures
She likes to say "Ohhhhhh"

Just being almost 2...playing around
She counts 1-10, knows plenty of body parts and words.
She'll say the alphabet A-G, then stop, but knows them all...on a really good day she'll keep going.

Can someone put her on their wireless plan? Looking like she's handling business.
She works it LIKE A CHAMP. If it's laying down, she's on it.
If it's password protected, she brings it to you to unlock.

Good Morning Alex
Off to Grammy and Papi's - God Bless Them!

I dressed her in shirt and shorts. She did the rest of this.
Those are not her shoes. They belong to Alex.

Too Funny

I just don't know.

Eating blueberries.
At least her dad gave them to her and she didn't open the refrigerator herself.
Yeah she does that!

Well until next time...probably posting about 1st day of Kindergarten.
