Geez Louise

Man oh Man!
Life is BUSY. And I just made myself feel worse seeing that my last blog update was Feb. 1. GEEZ!!
I knew April would be a busy month, but that might have been a slight understatement. It's now May and I don't feel that caught up. Life...recap

Easter
So we made it to church. Alana slept almost the entire time (surprisingly) and Alex was writing and drawing. We didn't get the greatest pic, but Alana and I were twinning a bit! : ) Alex has on that sweater because he did not want to tuck his shirt in (with his tie). We gave him the vest option with the tucked in shirt. He said no. So I said you can wear your shirt on the outside with this sweater but you can not take the sweater off. By the way that sweater was a great find at the consignment sale. $1 Gap sweater (no holes)

Hockey Game
Alex went to his 1st hockey game with Charles and Papi. Charles said he was into it the first 2 periods but then just couldn't stay still. Welp...time to go! He got a haircut on this day as well and no longer looked like a 4 year old to me. Come on kid!

Random: Look at them both sleeping with one hand up!
Las Vegas
So Charles and I took a quick trip to Las Vegas. Not completely fun, but to participate in the
Photo Booth Expo. Minus the details. It was really fun and I learned a lot. It was great to be around people who love doing the same thing as I do. I'm looking forward to the additions coming to our business.

Alana updates
- She says almost 40 words (according to her grandma), but I don't think I've heard all of them. Including "hello", "bye bye", "head", "knee", "sock", "shoe", "cheese" (both the kind you eat and for picture taking) and don't forget "NO". She will say "A", "B", "C". She's getting better at repeating after you, but still kinda stubborn.

- She follows directions very well.

- She is into walking down the steps by herself. WALKING not crawling. Yeah it freaks me out a little, but she does use both hands to help her down. She also uses the back of her leg as a guide to when her foot is really on the step. She will let you hold her hand going down, but if you're taking too long...she's out. Sometimes I can get in front of her, but if I can't I just let her go and try not to let her see me at the top. I don't want her to look up and get distracted.

- This past weekend she started trying to say her name. Most of the time she says "Aaana" and sometimes you can hear the "L" sound sneak thru for "Lana"

- Her philosophy: If you have food, I have food.

Just hanging out at my dad's baseball game.

Just hanging out waiting for Alex to finish up at his friend's birthday party.

Guess what she was saying?
Cheezzzz

Alex
- Is still shocking me with his word recognition and reading me. The other day in the Verizon store, he read all of the signs and impressed the salesman by knowing the word "confidence". It impressed me too because I didn't know he knew it.

- The month of May was very active for Alex. 3 days a week he was either at swimming lessons or basketball. Pics on the next blog...maybe. If I remember. He did a good job at both though!

- His last day of preschool (and our last daycare payment...for him) also happen in May. YIPPEE!! Here we come Summer Camp and Kindergarten.
