1. Happy Mother's Day
I went to church by myself and then came home and took pictures with my kids. It's what I wanted to do. Oh and Charles fixed me hot dogs and corn on the grill...like I requested. I know how to keep it simple...sometimes.
Yes, I put Alana in a cute dress. Sometimes you just don't feel like fighting with the older one.
Yes! We're cute!
Yes! We're cool!
2. New Hair Color
I've always liked red heads! I remember a boy in my 5th grade class that had red hair. Now I didn't "like him" I just thought his hair was pretty cool. From then on people I've seen with red hair (especially if they were born with it), I've always given them 2 extra points in my book. Well I showed Charles the color I was going for and got the "ok". Then told my mom and listened for her to ask me if "I'd lost my mind." (with her thinking about my professional life), but she was cool and curious, so from there I was set.
I talked to my beautician about the process and how quickly something could be done to correct it if I didn't like it. Her response was right then...I was definitely sold.
Well they say "3rd times a charm" - cause that's when the color finally turned out to what I wanted. She pulled out something called "red red" and I said "YES". I was soooo excited. I think she went with the other "versions" of red first because I don't think she thought I was serious about RED. I wanted people to look at me and say, "she has red hair".
Yes. Love it. I received so many compliments and not just from people that know me. It felt good when perfect strangers would say "I love your hair color." I knew I was right to go red!
Update: So red fades fast, which I was informed of before I left the salon. But I wasn't expecting as quickly as 2.5-3 weeks. So now my hair color is a lighter version of the above picture. It's not my favorite, but I think this will just be a summer look because I don't have time to keep running to the salon for touch-ups/brighter/whatever. I got kids/job/family/side job...
3. Birthday Party
Go me, it was your birthday. Charles planned a surprise - no surprise party at the house. Why "no surprise?" Cause I figured it out. He was stalling me out too long, not letting me come home so I had a feeling. I started texting certain friends and all of them of course were acting like they didn't know, but I knew they did. I finally got approved to come home and YEP they were all there. Surprise or not, I love being with my friends!
These are part of my FOR LIFE crew! Nothing else to be said.
These chicks too. FOR LIFE!
I mean how could you give up these faces.
Characters. Any time. Any character.
Well not only are they FOR LIFE-ers, but "Makers" of This Life crew
except for that little one.
4. Alex's Graduation
Daycare it's been nice, but after 2.5 years, we must go our separate ways. Alex and I were pleased to be apart of this day!
In the robe
He warned us that he wouldn't be able to wave.
He's at the back row, sitting next to the wall, CHEESING
Yes, I was asked to be the speaker.
My 3 minute speech talked about how having confidence is cool. At the end I put on these "cool" sunglasses and gave each graduating student a pair.
Before his name was called. I have NO CLUE where he gets these poses.
One parent joined each student at the front.
Charles did it since I was already on stage.
Charles did it since I was already on stage.
I couldn't see if other parents did the same, but here Charles is putting Alex's Confidence glasses on.
The Graduate and his dad
After the robe
He's so handsome!
Alex and Ms. India (his teacher)
She did a great job recognizing Alex's abilities and pushed him to the next level.
Alex and Papi
K2 was there too.

Yes girl!

5. Alex Swimming
Alex was in swimming two days a week for the entire month of May. It was clear by the 3rd lesson, he was getting it. He does enjoy it! These pics are from level 1, but we are now in level 2. I'll try to get videos up.
Arizona
Well we took our 1st family flight! I thought the entire thing thru and can't really complain at how any of it turned out.
I think this picture is so funny! When Alana wasn't sitting down, she was taking me back and forth on the moving sidewalk. LIKE 25 TIMES!
Alana's 1st flight.
I couldn't make her understand the importance of yawning to help her ears, so I put this together.
A friend send the idea to me, more so to keep her calm/entertained, but I pulled it out early as I thought the chewing motion would help her ears. She was MORE THAN HAPPY to partake.
2 in front, 2 behind
Thankfully on our 1st flight we didn't have anyone in the middle seat, so I put Alana right there once she was comfortable with flying. She wasn't a fan of wearing the headphones, but was ok if I put it up to her ear. Yeah no way was I doing that the entire flight. She was just fine watching and not hearing.
Dollar Tree post-it's
She stuck them around and even passed them to lady beside her. I was like a little game to her.
Finally in AZ
Straight to the pool
Remember Alex's friend Levi? (check old old post)
Well he and his family live in AZ now, so it was great to connect with them (everyday).

Yeahh we out here!
Oh where is Alana?
Right here!
She woke up eventually
Woke up soon enough to play at the Children's Museum
Flowers anyone?
Alex and I RAN to the photo booth when we saw it inside the museum. Oh you know I was sold!
Even if the photo booth had not been there, it was a great museum. You could spend a lot of time there.
Thanks AZ!
Great 1st family trip to the WEST SIDE!!!
Great 1st family trip to the WEST SIDE!!!
When we returned from AZ, a few days later we were visiting Alex's new elementary school!
Kindergarten HERE WE COME!
After an introduction, they separated the kids and the parents. I had already given Alex a "prep talk" about answering any questions they asked, not to be shy, speaking to people, etc. So when they called the kids to come to the front, we told him to go. He looked back and said "Are you coming?" We said "no" and I said "remember what we talked about." Then he walked off with no problem. When the kids returned, he was just fine. I think we're all looking forward to it....maybe.
Kindergartner's have a FULL SHEET of supplies.
This was a list of things they could be working on during the summer.
Thankfully Alex already has some of those in the bag! DONE! On to the next!
Ok. Next blog will be soon...hopefully. Before end of the month. Gotta go to swimming now!
